While working out at the gym last night I noticed that the South Lake Union Trolley (the SLUT) was up and running. After the unfortunate initials they have apparently changed it to the South Lake Union Streetcar, but I doubt the acronym will ever stop being used. Thank God. Mayor Greg Nickels has stated that “people can call it whatever they want, as long as they ride it.” By what I saw, it seems like the streetcar is already very popular and with the insane amount of businesses and condos going up in South Lake Union, people in Seattle are going to enjoy riding that S.L.U.T.
FYI: Rides throughout December are free, then they will start charging Metro prices. About $1.50 for a ride. You can also buy “Ride the Slut” shirts over at Cafepress.
