In a brilliant form of advertising, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, is a film coming out starring that Dude from “How I Met Your Mother” and that Hot Girl from “Veronica Mars” and “Heroes”. The Dude plays Petter Bretter, who just got dumped by his hot TV girlfriend Sarah Marshall (I suggest you watch the Trailer since it is very funny and note safe for little kids). Petter has just started a blog himself entitled “I Hate Sarah Marshall” so he could show the world just how much he is over here. He tells his readers that he was going to propose to her, but “I was just waiting for the right time. I guess that time is never O’clock in the month of Nev-ruary”. He also shows that he is taking the high rode by stating he wishes for Sarah to be “un-happy for the rest of your life – that you understand how totally over you I am.”
This is a great marketing ploy from the creators of the movie. It is good to see Hollywood taking advantage of the enormous popularity of blogs these days. I am actually surprised that more blogs like these don’t exist in real life. How great would it be if Kevin Federline started a blog titled “Why Britney is a WHORE” and if Britney retaliated with one named “Reasons Why Federline is a Douchebag“. Of course the most popular one would probably be Jennifer Aniston and her blog called “Adopting Kids Makes You A Slut“. The internet is already a great way to handle relationships and break-ups, and it is cool too see a movie show how it could be taken to the next level. Forgetting Sarah Marshall comes out April of 2008.

I have to disagree. This ad campaign, fake blog and all, is annoying not in the least because it’s so in love with its own cleverness. Which is never cool. The campaign makes me less likely to want to see this movie.

Wow this guy has gone crazy. He totally isn’t over her at all. Especially if he has these billboards everywhere. Hes just being a big baby because his girl broke up with him. I wonder how everybody else deals with it. I really wish i could post on his site to rip on him some more.
