I don’t want to admit it, but sometimes you have to take the high road. YES, I like the band that was started by Hannah Montana’s brother (who cares about her real name). On one side you have Hannah (ok her real name is Miley), who is the definition of teeny bopper disney myspace lipgloss bunnies purple glitter music. On the other side, you have Trace, who founded Metro Station, and is a tall skinny 70 percent tattooed underground alternative rock punk. Such different spectrum in the siblings make me wonder how this came to be. I figured it was proof of what happens when you have a dad that is famous for a song called “Achey Brakey Heart”. Something definitely aches when I hear that song, but it isn’t my heart.
I heard the song “Seventeen Forever” by Metro Station and instantly liked it. I looked them up and read that they were a very popular underground band that was touring the country promoting their just releases self-titled album. I listened to more songs
from their album and realized that even though they are a underground alternative band, they are definitely aimed more toward the high school aged group. Even so, I will admit I find some of their tunes catchy. I suggest you check them out. If you don’t like them, that’s fine, but if you do, then you have to admit you want to back to high school.
